MANCHÁ KU
GOSO
WOMEN DIRECTORS SHORT FILM
“Manchá ku Goso” (Stained with Joy) is a surrealist and cathartic exploration of self-forgiveness and compassion, discovering that true self-love is not about erasing flaws, but accepting them as integral parts of your identity. The film ends with a newfound confidence and an unshakable sense of self, inviting audiences to embrace their vulnerabilities and embark on their own paths toward self-discovery and acceptance.

LÍNEAS NADA
MÁS
WOMEN DIRECTORS SHORT FILM
He went on a trip. From North to south. As he walked away, I received his letter, the saddest letter. It was stored for a long time. One day, although the pain wouldn't let go, I wanted to revisit it. I finally recovered and started drawing lines and more lines that gave rise to this animation. Between landscapes and memories I explore anger, love and nostalgia in a movement through time and distance.

A girl continues to struggle with her identity and gender. She was treated like a boy growing up, so everything about gender confused her. She tried to act like a girl and finally gave up. This story is based on my own experience, I was born in a traditional hometown and in that place we always ask girls to be ladies and boys to be tough. I used many years to discover my true mind, I tried to discover what I am. Now I realize that those things aren't important, whether it's a boy or a girl, I'm just myself. I hope everyone can love themselves and find true freedom.

BREATH TAKING
WOMEN DIRECTORS SHORT FILM
Breath Taking explores the many facets of breathing, that is, taking deep breaths to deter the specter of anxiety, depression and loneliness; the terrible inability to breathe; taking our last breath; and the stunning beauty of nature that gives us solace in times of anguish and deep sadness. Breath Taking was inspired by the pandemic when breathing became a conscious act. It also revealed the legal malpractice and gross neglect of older citizens who are in long-term care. Our film is also the personal story of a wife who cares for her dying husband and his grief.
Director: PHYLLIS WHYTE, SHERRY LEBLANC
